I am a member of the LIESP Laboratory where I lead a research activity on Multi-Agents Systems from the perspective of Complex Adaptive Systems.

My research addresses the study, programming and simulation of complex, dynamic and distributed systems. These characteristics are in the heart of current computing systems. With the development of the Internet, large scale networks, mobile and pervasive computing, computing systems could no more be considered as closed entities with automatic mechanisms for specific tasks achievment. They are much more, open systems, interacting with their complex and changing environment (users, other systems, network,..etc), with which they have to co-evolve and to which they have to adapt.

Main topics/interests
  • Complex Adaptive Systems
  • Engineering self-organization and emergence
  • Situated Multi-Agents
  • Agent-Based Software Engineering
  • Swarm Intelligence , Bio-inspired computing
  • Embodied Cognition
  • Emergence of language, Emergence of meaning and representations
  • Complex Adaptive networks: Internet, Web, Social  Networks
